Andi is passionate about instilling a love of reading and giving all children the tools to make reading fun. She was not a book-loving child herself and understands that the right book and the proper techniques can be life changing for young readers!
Student Evaluations
Andi will work closely with your student to assess reading strengths, learning style, and opportunities for growth. These fun and casual evaluations will vary based on the age and needs of the child and may include assessments of reading fluency, sight vocabulary, comprehension, phonemic awareness, phonics skills, and orthography (spelling and writing). $80 an hour
An individualized plan is then created for your child, including recommendations for learning at home as well as interventions to be explicitly taught by the reading specialist.
Mentoring Sessions
Individualized sessions will be tailored to the needs of your child based on the data collected during the student evaluation. These sessions include strategies and lessons developed through my training in Heggerty phonemic awareness, Words Their Way word study, Orton-Gillingham multi-sensory phonics techniques, and much more.
Weekly sessions are recommended, typically 2 half-hour sessions for kindergarten and first graders or 1 hour-long session a week for older students. $80 an hour
